A new Medical Physicist, Daniel Vergara has recently joined our Yale Diagnostic Medical Physics team. Daniel has received a CAMPEP accredited Master of Science in Medical Physics (2012) from Florida Atlantic University. In 2018 he completed a CAMPEP accredited residency training in Diagnostic Medical Physics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center. He will support all aspects of clinical diagnostic physics program at YNHH including evaluation of system performance, QA/QC, radiation dose management, protocols review and teaching. We are delighted to welcome him to Yale! ... Daha fazlaDaha az
Congratulations to Xiaoxiao Li, 4th Year Ph.D student in our Image Processing and Analysis Group (IPAG) for winning the Best Abstract Award at the 2018 Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) Annual meeting. Xiaoxiao’s work with Jim Duncan on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and biomarker detection is ground breaking. Strong work! bit.ly/2COoyc6 #YaleRadiology ... Daha fazlaDaha az

A team of researchers and engineers led by Henk de Feyter and Robin de Graaf from the Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC) have developed a novel, MRI-based metabolic imaging technique: Deuterium Metabolic Imaging (DMI). Thanks to the unique availability of the 4 Tesla Bruker clinical research scanner in the MRRC they were able to immediately implement DMI for use in human subjects, and apply DMI after simply drinking 2H-labeled glucose dissolved in water. DMI provides novel and unique image contrast on a range of metabolic processes and will bolster the use of MRI-based metabolic imaging in a wide range of pathologies, including cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases.
